LA INK Drives Ratings on Discovery Channel in Denmark

This January, Discovery Channel in Denmark launched an alternative marketing campaign to support fan-favorite LA INK featuring the star of the show, Kat Von D. The campaign — which is a clever combination of tactics includes print and social media, a competition to send a lucky fan to LA as well as a prominent feature about Kat in Ekstra Bladet on the day of the show's premiere — has already resulted in impressive audiences. 

The premiere of LA INK, which airs Fridays at 10 PM (local time), achieved a national share on 7.0% in the important target demo of Men 25-39, which is 197% above timeslot levels for the previous four Fridays. The success of LA INK comes on the heels of increased viewership across Discovery Channel noted in the first week of the year, beating all records to date with a commercial share on 5.8% in the target demo and making the network the 6th largest commercial channel in Denmark.
