Discovery Portfolio Reaches Record Breaking Results in Poland

The Discovery Channel portfolio in Poland achieved its highest ever ratings results in January, with a 0.77% ratings amongst all adults 16-49 in the cable satellite market – a 28% year on year increase.

Discovery Channel was the most popular channel in the portfolio and gained a 0.37% rating among all adults 16-49 (cable satellite), registering 27% growth year on year.

The programmes behind the channel’s success were MY SHOCKING STORY, which achieved a 0.91% average rating and ULTIMATE SURVIVAL that recorded a 0.71% rating. DESTROYED IN SECONDS, DEADLIEST CATCH and DIRTY JOBS were also instrumental to the results, alongside the HOW IT'S MADE series, which clocked-up an average minute rating of 0.64% throughout the month.

Aside from Discovery Channel, other channels from the portfolio generated strong results throughout January. Discovery Science grew its average rating to 0.15% in the all adults 16-49 market. Hit shows including SCI-TREK produced a 0.31% average rating, whilst ENGINEERED gained a 0.58% rating.

Throughout January, Discovery World achieved an average monthly rating of 0.13%. DR G. MEDICAL EXAMINER was the highest rated series on the channel reaching a 0.34% rating amongst all adults 16-49. DEATH MACHINES also performed well on the channel, securing a 0.37% average rating.

Animal Planet’s HUMAN PREY scored the highest ratings on the channel throughout January, noting a 0.44% rating, whilst Discovery Travel & Living’s highest rated programme was RESTORER GUY, with a 0.18% average rating.
