Discovery Launches First Live Theatrical Show Featuring Discovery Kids' Doki

Discovery Communications today announced the launch of its first theatrical show DOKI EN VIVO: UN MUNDO POR EXPLORAR. Discovery Enterprises International is rolling out the touring event throughout Latin American beginning this month, premiering first in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

"Doki is the face of Discovery Kids in Latin America and our new live show is a great opportunity to extend the Doki franchise beyond television and retail, further emphasizing the true power and depth of the Discovery Kids and Doki brands in the market," said Caleb Weinstein, Senior Vice President of Discovery Enterprises International.

In a unique performance aimed at the whole family, developed and produced by Dumold Trust, the Entertainment Division of Exim Licensing Group, DOKI EN VIVO: UN MUNDO POR EXPLORAR shares the adventures of Doki and his friend Mundi while they embark on an unforgettable journey. The objective is to find the three lost parts of the "Explorers Club Medallion." To do so, they must visit the depths of the ocean, the Amazon Rainforest, and travel in a rocket ship to arrive in space. Along the way, these curious travelers will make new friends with whom they will discover different parts of the planet and learn about teamwork, helping others, taking care of the planet, and above all, the importance of friendship. Through a show filled with music, adventures, and emotion, while also promoting learning and healthy fun, the entire family will be able to be a part of an unforgettable journey, interact with Doki and his friends, and enjoy the experience of becoming true Discovery Kids Explorers.

Doki is the face of Discovery Kids and the perfect metaphor for a six year old boy. Just like viewers his age, Doki has boundless energy and a keen intelligence. Discovery Kids reaches 24 million homes across Latin America and is the top-rated cable channel in the region among preschoolers and women, which has helped develop Doki into a highly recognizable, popular personality.

In partnership with Gran TV in Argentina, Representaciones Doce in Chile and Exim Licensing Group for all other Latin American countries Discovery has already launched a broad line of Doki products and services throughout the region including children’s apparel, bedding and towels, footwear, publishing, party goods, back to school and stationary and personal care products; as well as promotions throughout Latin America. The popular line of products also include a talking Doki plush doll available in Spanish and Portuguese language versions developed by IPlay and other toys developed in partnership with Ditoys in Argentina, Ansaldo in Chile; activity books developed with Brazilian partner Editora Fundamento Educational Ltda.; an exclusive collection of kids apparel with Ripley retail stores in Chile and Apparel Union Kids in Mexico; dinnerware by Daysal in Argentina, educational games with Toyco in Argentina and backpacks with Mexma in Argentina, Jetbag in Venezuela and Dermiwil in Brazil.
