TLC and Emerging Networks Ratings Soar in First Quarter 2010

Discovery's emerging networks shine in 1Q10. Investigation Discovery, Science Channel and Military Channel each experienced their best rated quarter ever, posting double-digit gains in all key demos. Discovery Channel: LIFE continues to dominate, garnering 5.3 million total viewers (P2+) on Sun (8-10 p.m.), once again taking the top spot in cable in Persons, Men and Women 25-54. And online, LIFE has driven 1.3M unique visitors, 4.8M page views and nearly 8M short-form streams.* For the quarter, DIRTY JOBS and SWAMP LOGGERS were the #1 non-fiction, non-sports programs on Tuesdays and Fridays, respectively. Science Channel: best quarter ever in P2+, HH, P/M/W 25-54 and 18-49, marking 7 straight months of month-over-month growth in M25-54. Military Channel: best quarter ever in P2+, HH, P/W/M 25-54 and 18-49. Original series premieres of WORLD AT WAR and CIA SECRETS are posting double-digit increases vs. 1Q10 prime average in P2+, HH, P/M 25-54 and P/M/W 18-49. Discovery Health: garnered its best 1Q ever in total day in HH (119k) and P2+ (140k).
